Got a problem with drink or drugs?  Need some help?

uchooseit is run by people who have had drink or drug problems themselves.  We are here to give support and you can talk to us about about any practical help you need.

You don’t need to be clean or sober and we won’t judge you.  What we will do is work with you to try and sort out your problems.

When we decided that we wanted to get clean or sober we found that, although there are treatment services in Tameside, it was almost impossible to find support to deal with the more practical problems that we had.  Things like finding somewhere reasonable to live, dealing with our debts even finding a dentist.  We knew that there were agencies or services out there but we didn’t really know how to get in touch with them and, to be honest, many of us didn’t have the confidence to go out of the front door.  Actually going out and getting hold of the things we needed to recover seemed impossible.

What does uchooseit do ?

uchooseit works with individuals to :

• help them identify the full range of services they need to support their recovery journey
• make informed decisions on the options available to them
• gain the confidence to express their needs and to work towards meeting them
