Volunteering with
uchooseit is about using your skills to support people with substance misuse problems and those who have been effected by their use e.g. carers and concerned others
uchooseit believes that :
- volunteering offers people in recovery the chances they need to gain new skills, build self esteem and ultimately to improve their life chances by volunteering, people in recovery can act as positive role models for those struggling with drug and alcohol problems
uchooseit volunteers bring a unique perspective, based on their own life experiences
- volunteering should offer real benefits and that opportunities for personal and professional development are a major part of the volunteering experience
- volunteering is about breaking down barriers between different people and working alongside others to solve problems
- volunteering supports people in their own recovery
- volunteers should be involved as much as possible in the planning and running of uchooseit’s projects and events
Attached is a volunteer profile form that you can download (word .doc 2003) and fill in without the need to print off and email it across to us and someone will definitely get in contact.
